The E127 series is a general-purpose DC train that appeared in 1995 with the aim of replacing the 165 series that was used for local trains on the Uetsu and Echigo lines in the Niigata area. The car body is made of stainless steel doors, allowing for highly flexible operation from 3-door, 2-car one-man operation to a maximum of 6-car formation. Product features E127 series 0 series (V6 formation) belonging to Niigata Rolling Stock Center is reproduced as a prototype.
